Joseph’s Secret: The Presence of God – Continued

How do you experience and stay in God’s presence? The longer you spend time with someone, the more like them you become. For example, husbands and wives can experience that over many years of marriage, but it’s especially true of God’s presence.

2 Corinthians 3 (NKJV)
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Intentionally enter God’s presence. We have so many Christian tools readily available to us to help us connect with God, such as devotional books, emails and text services, and worship music. We can choose to draw close to God and we can do that both in the company of others and on our own. Remember, we are not talking about being perfect. Joseph wasn’t perfect either. When we miss it, God expects us to quickly repent and move on.

Conclusion

When it was all said and done Joseph saw the fulfilment of all his dreams. In life and even in his death Joseph was abundantly victorious! His bones were carried out of Egypt and buried in the Promised Land. Centuries later when Jesus died on the cross, the Bible tells us that the graves were opened and many saints of old came out of the graves and appeared to people in Jerusalem. I just believe that since Joseph had enough faith and vision to demand that his bones be taken out of Egypt, then he must have been amongst that glorious gang of resurrected saints! Hallelujah, he was there to get up and join in the hallelujah choir headed for heaven as Jesus led captivity captive!

Genesis 50 (NKJV)
24 And Joseph said to his brethren, “I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”
25 Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”
26 So Joseph died, being one hundred and ten years old; and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

Exodus 13 (NKJV)
18 …And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.
19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had placed the children of Israel under solemn oath, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you.”

Matthew 27 (NKJV)
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,
52 *and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.*
54 So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

When you and I have the faith and grace to fight life through, and the courage to stand and walk out these truths, then even after we have left this life and passed on to glory, the testimonies of our lives will continue to be a witness and a blessing to those we leave behind.

It’s been my privilege and joy to share these Lessons from Joseph with you over these two weeks. I pray you have been blessed and helped. May we all continue to learn and grow in these truths, and become more like Jesus. Please join me as we pray the following prayer for ourselves.

Prayer
Lord make my end to be like Joseph’s.
Help me to demonstrate:
– Grace under fire
– Grace to forgive
– Grace to persevere
– Grace to dream again and keep on believing
– Courage to get up when I fall and strength to fight through it all.

Father help me to always trust You and Your direction for my life. Help me to trust and obey You and to always see through Your eyes as I surrender my perception to You. Help me to see beyond the troubles and trials of today, to the triumphs and trophies of tomorrow. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen 🙏🏾

Thanks so much for the opportunity to be a blessing to you!
