People experience different problems in life. Some believe that their problems are the results of generational curses which run in their family. In this issue and the next, we will determine whether a believer can be subject to the influence of a generational curse.
Abraham’s Blessings Are Ours
What did God promise Abraham? Blessings or curses? Blessings. Abraham was blessed to the point that anybody who came against him was cursed by God. In God promised Abraham:
Genesis 12 (NKJV)
2 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Galatians 3 (NKJV)
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Praise God those same blessings of Abraham’s are ours today!
In Exodus 20:6 and 34:7 God said that He would visit the iniquities of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. But we cannot because of these verses, conclude that we as believers are automatically subject to the effects of our forefathers’ sins through generational curses.
